“I was left two alternatives — fight it, or give up. I chose to fight.”
— HERBERT GROVES
About the JEFA program
JEFA, an abbreviation for “Justice and Equality for All” was the legacy of Herbert Stanley Groves, who fought for the betterment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders through access to education and opportunities for employment and overall advancement of Indigenous Australians.
To honour this legacy, Killara’s JEFA Program was developed to provide Indigenous people education and employment opportunities.
